Cute and bittersweet, but at least the ending leaves some room for hope…I think. NIcely done.

Loved the image of a mind wandering left and right..so often we say his/her mind wandered but somehow giving it a direction to wander in seems rather particular and interesting. The last two lines add another layer to the poem.
