Life of a Spiderwoman
From the darkness, I’ll descend
But don’t you worry, not all things that lurk in the dark are evil.
Look at me,
I’ll smile with my spider teeth
And I’ll hold you with my spider arms.
And I wish that all could see the beauty in a creep
Like me.
Surely somebody thinks my eight spider eyes
Are bright and shiny and captivating.
The size of my heart
Doesn’t equate to the amount of love I can fit in it;
the amount of passionate, chilly blood that flows through it.
All this blue blood inside of me.
Maybe that’s why people run away.
Take a ride on my blue blood as it races through all the parts of me,
Down a leg and a leg and a leg and a leg and a leg and a leg and leg and a
Leg
Now that you’ve ridden through my body on the back of my blood—
Don’t you see that I’m not a scary creature?
I try to survive as you do.
So I won’t touch you,
If you don’t want me to.
I know that my legs are hairy and tickle and creep and send bad shivers through your body.
But if you’re lonely,
I’ll always be here in the shadows.
