Escapist— I really like the voice of this piece. Your narrator’s take on her one night stand is pretty romantic. Maybe it’ll turn into something more than a one night stand. Shoot, I’d like to see some Santiago. This is all pretty pagan. ;)

Also, nice choice of inspiration. That photo is beautiful in a calm, still way.

Intriguing. It has an odd, almost disjoined flow to it, but it still works. I like the line about a Neruda poem. It’s a very nice depiction of feeling self-conscious and the next morning’s shame and self doubt.

I’ve been getting a lot of comments about flow, so perhaps that’s something I should look at.

Neruda is one of my favorite poets by the way, if not my favorite. :)

I agree that it has a bit of a disjointed flow to it, but that’s not all bad, I think it adds a bit to the narrator’s voice. She’s feeling a bit broken maybe but in a “beautiful” way.
