Really cool take. The first time I read through it for some reason I imagined this taking place in a jail cell, but on reading again it could be in a hospital, or a mental institution, or perhaps someone is holding him hostage. I really like the imagery of Jack muttering about what a good boy he is, makes me wonder what he feels he has to prove. A great entry!

When I was writing it I had a mental institution in mind, but I deliberately left it somewhat vague so it could be open to reader interpretation. Thank you for the feedback. :)

I was also torn as to whether Jack was being kept for his own good or whether it was a punishment. There is enough sinister imagery in his apparent madness to be either.
