Ew, that was definitely a creepy take on the challenge. Sounds a bit like “Daughter of Leatherface” or “The Hills Have Eyes: The Next Generation”. Very nicely written, and I especially like the idea of the anxious uncle standing by in hopes that she will accept the family calling.

People don’t stop to consider that the chance to horrify and torture people is a birthright that must be maintained. Save the Scaries!

A couple of China’s Mieville’s novels describe “remades”, humans sentenced to a type of slavery as part human, part machine, and part other creatures, like part human, part shark grafted with underwater welding equipment.

I can easily imagine this being one of the scenes. Great job.
