Silence will fall
The darkness was closing in, pressing on me from every corner. I could feel a chill running down my spine. I was all alone.
“Beware the shadows” a faint whisper said. “Beware the shadows”
I looked around for the source of the voice, finding no one. I went to where I thought the voice emanated from, finding nothing in the messy shelves of the run-down library but old books. I was all alone.
“Beware the shadows” the whisper said again, closer now than before.
I caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye, but when I turned, its source was gone. There came a rustling of paper and the clatter of books hitting the floor, but once I looked at the source, there was nothing, but I could feel the eyes watching me.
I was no longer alone.
