Even before reading the challenge guidelines I loved that his possessions were rock, paper and scissors. And I especially like how in contrast to a game where the each destroy another, you have them working together to save someone. Really unique take and beautiful writing as usual.
I do love the post-apocalyptic genre, so this pushes my buttons, although of course, I’d like to know the bigger picture. Sequel, anyone? Nicely fits the challenge brief as well.
@JonB: I have a rule which, like all my rules, you are free to follow or not as your whim takes you. The person that asks for or suggests a sequel to a piece is the person that ought to write that sequel. I’m jes’ sayin’.
August: I should be more careful not to become entangled in people’s personal legislative frameworks. Of course, I feel duty bound to comply; but it will take some thought.
