Held fast by fear, gripping and grasping while wide eyed in the darkness, she would see this through. Her heart beating as a taiko drum, blood that should be breaking against her tympanum like a tsunami was inaudibly drowned out by the terrible and climatic cacophony. The credits rolled and the friends laughed and she wondered at the curious appeal of a movie about the dead, how it made them feel more alive, and, with a smile still broadcasting contentment, why they didn’t have awesome scary movie night more often.
