Hivelings Pt. 6: Speech
“May I have your attention please?” the naga called. “Allow me to introduce myself. I am the principal of this school. Welcome to Taura High.”
She took the mic off its stand and began moving across the stage. “Years ago,” she began, “half-breeds were despised and looked down upon. In fact, half-breeds were deemed to be worth less than a slave in the time before the Civil War!”
There was a round of anxious whispering at this. Undettered, the naga continued.
“However, my mother’s great-aunt, Taura Lemming, was determined to change that, and founded this school. Finally, there was a place where humans and half-breeds could be treated as equals.”
She looked at the assembly. “That has not changed,” she said in a stern tone. “The rules prohibit any kind of racist actions. Such things will be punished.”
She then went on to outline the various teachers, species-specific classes, and more.
Noone even saw the harpy in the open window, glaring down at the speaker.
