Ivan busted out laughing. “Ahhhahaha! Oh, I can’t-pfft wahaaaha!”
Cassidy rolled her eyes. “You’re so easily amused,” she teased.
“I know, heh. Is something I got from my mother,” Ivan replied, still chuckling a bit.
The three walked into Sience class and sat down, Ellis on Cassidy’s right and Ivan on her left.
The teacher, a tired-looking male drider, raised an eyebrow. “Miss East, Mister Dufour, Miss Evergreen. You are late,” he drawled.
Ellis cringed. “Sorry, mister Blahsworth,” she replied. “It won’t happen again.”
Blahsworth nodded. “Very well,” he consented. “Turn to page 23…”
There was a knocking at the door to the classroom.
Blahsworth groaned. “Who is it?” he grumbled.
“Joseph, it’s me,” came Mr. Clark’s voice.
Blahsworth facepalmed. “Come in, then…” he moaned.
The neko military instructor walked in, holding a list. “East, North, Dufour, Evergreen, Miller,” he read. “Come with me.”
