Hivelings Pt. 21

“The principal’s office?” the drider asked. “Real reassuring…”

Clark opened the door. “I retrieved the children, ma’am,” he said.

“Thank you, Ryan,” came the principal’s voice. “Return to your class.”

Mr. Clark saluted, then walked away.

“Come in and have a seat,” the principal said. Reluctantly, the five students did as they were told. The door shut behind them.

“Um…” the drider said nervously as the naga appraised them.

“Gerald Miller, there is no reason to be afraid,” the principal said. “I promise I mean no harm.”

She cupped her hands on her desk. “I am Cecilia Parker, sister of Clara Parker. And I need your help.”
