“…I understand we had to eat them,” Cecilia said, “but was prematurely pulling them into your intestines necessary?”
“Less conspicuous,” Ryan replied. “They don’t make me look nine months pregnant in there.” He chuckled.
“So, now that they’re safely tucked away…” Cecilia mused, “do we know if Velvet will make a move soon?”
Ryan’s expression turned grim. “Our informant was eaten,” he responded.
Cecilia’s eyes widened. “No…” she whispered softly. “Mia…”
Ryan nodded. “Afraid so. She’s most likely halfway digested by now… Poor girl.”
Cecilia winced as Gerald struggled inside her. “Should we tell my sister to go into hiding?” she asked.
“Already did,” Ryan said, smiling. “She’s currently within her husband’s abdomen belly. Driders are quite resourceful at times.”
“Clever of him…” Cecilia said. “Very well. Shall we call te parents?”
Ryan winced. “I guess,” he groaned.
