Awhile back I was job hunting and, for the first time, uploaded my resume to a jobbing site. Huge mistake. I went on three interviews without knowing exactly what the jobs were about. All sales, and all required me to put my own money up. They listed the job as “customer service”. Yeah, servicing the customer’s wallet and mine too.
Yeah. I’ve been caught in that trap before. I got sucked into this seminar one day. They did at least an hour long presentation on the projected growth potential of their “company” before they got to the part of the presentation about putting money up to buy their products etc. etc. and then the idea of harrassing your famiily and friends, didn’t appeal to me either. It was really shifty, too. They advertised these jobs as “management” type jobs and said to dress professionally. I showed up in dress shirt, slacks, tie and sat in a room full of similarly dressed suckers that fell for this trap also. A few of us were smart enough to walk as soon as they started asking for money. Others stayed and listened to their next pitch.
Thank you. I had a few directions in mind on this one. I went from a comedic idea and with 32’s addition it turned into more of a pulp kind of angle. It’s been fun watching it take shape.
