He told her he was lonely the other day. Said that he loved her, and missed her when she was away. She says she’s lonely too. She doesn’t say why.
He walks to the tree where the serpent lives, hoping for some wise counsel. The serpent has never led him astray before. When he reaches the hill where the tree sits, he finds her already there, basking in the shade of the tree.
“Adam!” she says, covering herself. “How did you get over there? You were just beside me.”
“When did you get here? What is that in your hand? Tell me, Eve, please!” He begged, fearing the worst, knowing she must answer him.
“It’s the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten!” Eve replied joyfully. “Come taste my forbidden fruit, Adam!”
