Ficly

Four Forward Words

Impatience won’t become you when you wear it on your sleeve
Not once did you respect me when I said that I would leave
At first you disbelieved me and the changes in my life
I’ve made these hard decisions now to discontinue strife
What place is there for friendship when it’s always about you?
Your selfishness is evident in all you say and do
A true friend would be patient and consider what is right
For the other party – not complain and instigate a fight
There is no place for closeness after all that we have done
I see now the destruction of what we considered fun
It’s far too painful to go back, best rather to press on
I’ve turned away from nightfall and I’m facing a new dawn
If you can’t understand me, then at least consider this
It’s better to speak harshly than stay silent and remiss
Rest calm and please forget me, whether blessing, neutral, cursed
And leave me to my poetry. Recall:

I Was Here First
