I’m looking for collaborators to help me out with this story which is intended to be in the noir style. What I’d like to see is each collaborator take on a unique persona (mine is Nick Beretta). Write in the first person for your selected persona and only for your persona. You’re not restricted to writing about the present; you can reminisce as well. If you want to include dialog with someone else’s character, allow them to write their part of the dialog. This can be done using the note system so that only the final product can be published.
This could be amazing. I would love to collaborate again and I know that Katya has been sitting alone waiting for me to get to work but I will have some time in December to buckle down. I hope that someone takes you up on this before I do but I wanted to let you know this is a great intro and a great idea.
Delightfully noir to the Nth degree! It has all the elements and tons of possibilities. If I hadn’t just posted a story I’d throw on a sequel. I loved the black and grey description of outside—very fitting.
Trust you, August, to come up with another rule-bound writing exercise. And what a fun way to start the ball rolling. As THX notes, this certainly ticks all the boxes genre-wise, and it’s also a good read.
@JonB: Thanks. If it helps any, I don’t see a great deal of difference between ‘rule-bound writing exercise’ and ‘game,’ at least in this context. Glad you joined in.
@BiC: Join in if you feel up to it, once you’ve read the entire thing. Anyone is welcome.
If you want an external guide to the story, see http://wp.me/P4djvr-1w. The bulk of the material there is by author Pablo Vilas with a minor contribution by… modesty prevents.
