Petals Worth Shedding

Thumping through the air,
petals performed an awkward dance.
They turned over and flipped
sideways and upways.

Colors never complimenting,
but differences are all the matter
in the positives and the negatives.

Simply a song could unite us,
in our patterns
unmatching and undeveloped
with our personalities connected.

Unity found in petals dancing from all different flowers
will save us from our staleness
and
maybe acceptance is just a phase,
but I wish it’d last forever.

And never have I ever wanted more
to be a collection of petals.
We’ll die and welt away soon,
but at least for a moment we were happy
and together and alive together.

All of us, stacked onto each other
in the prime of our bloom.
And if your brothers and sisters were stripeless
and you had those stripes,
it’s your turn to be a part of something that isn’t stripeless.

Figure out who you are
by escaping who you are
and learning about others.

Balance yourself out and what we’ve got
is a short, happy, vibrant life.
Who could ask for more?
