Good start! The character dynamics are rather intriguing, and the quote marks around Cousin Boris are nicely suggestive, without specifying anything. Tony, brushed and scrubbed like a show cat, is particularly well drawn. I’d be interested to see where this goes.

Technical point: I’d stick an ‘and’ between ‘daisies in his hand [&] a helium balloon’ (and your ballooon has an extra ‘o’). Also, last paragraph: Tony held h[i]s head high.

Interesting scene here, especially the aunt’s appraisal and seemingly inoccuous statement.
