I enjoyed this. I think what really struck me as that the would be wizard is both fully prepared and not prepared at all. Has he done this before and is this time different? Is this the culmination of a lifetime of attempts, with one final success? The detail that the demon was armored caught me as well, and made me wonder about where it had been pulled from.
