This is a nice, lively little scene. Good characters, and a good ending, as others note. How dare he take it upon himself to enforce what she’d decided was good for her? Smug bastard…

It could probably do with a couple of line breaks to break up the structure a little, but otherwise there’s not a lot wrong with it.

I can relate as I’m sure some of us have experience a friend/family member/partner take control of our goals, especially our desires to quit a habit. I once had a partner grab a cookie out of my hand just as I was ready to take a bite. I was thoroughly angry, embarrassed and insulted, like I was a child.

Lesson learned: either keep my goals to myself or tell only those I trust.
