This series carries a little bit of a “Sandman” vibe. I like it. Any thought to expanding it into a full-blown short story? There’s a lot of potential to be mined here.
Jim: I had thought about expanding it (I have been chafing at the character limit so far), but wanted to develop the ideas behind it a little, so here they are.
Continuing the delightfully dark Carroll/Dickens allegorical theme, and very well written. This is a great series – I particularly like the structure, with the eponymous gift being dispensed at the end of the installment, the effects briefly sketched before moving on at the start of the next. The story could easily have become bogged down by too much detail but as it is, it fairly skips along.
