I was wondering when Mr D. would show up.

Surely, a swank place like the Topaz would have a lounge rather than a waiting area, wouldn’t it? ‘Waiting area’ sounds so pedestrian.

Otellio is just buzzing about the place, isn’t he? And he should be. That he is doing nothing about his wife, however, is more than a bit puzzling.

The waiting area is for those yet to enter the dining room or lounge. The crowd has filled the bar and the tables. The Topaz does not allow overcrowding. It kills the whole experience.

Maryanne is a secondary priority, as she has always been to Mr. D. Old habits die hard. Perhaps her motivation and opportunity come from her knowledge of this flaw in her husband.

Nicely painted and everyone is falling into place nicely. Could get ugly quick.

Ah – Mr D appears at last. And a nice, detailed description of the boundary zone between the interior of the Topaz and the outside world – very much existing in different universes, I think. Well written indeed.
