One Question (7)
The hallway was impossibly long and incredibly bright.
Am I crossing over?
The walk was paced by me, my companion just followed. I walked and walked. My head cleared of all thoughts beyond The One Question I was going to be asked. I did not even know the question, but I was ready to listen.
Immediately a closed end to this hallway came into view. In a moment we were there. A portal slid open and we were in a portico in front of a huge arched portcullis with double doors. The doors parted and swung inward. I felt compelled to advance and enter the chamber beyond.
What is this question? I am ready for it.
I entered what I could assume was an amphitheater type gallery. The portcullis opened beneath a back wall sloping up with rows of seating. In front of me was a dais with a long desk and 3 figures sat equidistant apart with imposing high-backed chairs. These figures were humanoid as well but did have full faces.
My companion stepped in front of me and motioned to a single elaborate chair.
