I just want to write!
Puni paced up and down her tiny apartment. “UGH!” she groaned, pulling on her hair. “I can’t think of anything to write! This sucks!” She flopped down onto her tattered old futon and stared once more into the blank screen of her laptop. It mocked her. She stuck a middle finger up at it and stormed off. A moment later she came back. “I’m so sorry!” she said to the blank screen. “Please don’t be mad.”
The laptop continued to be blank.
“Fine then!” she yelled. “Screw you!” Again she left. Again she came back. “I’m so sorry!” she cried again. “Please just tell me what to write!”
Suddenly, it did. The words “Hi Puni” appeared on the screen. Puni stared at them, shocked. She took off her glasses to check. The sentence was still there. She put her glasses back on. Still there, and much less blurry. She smiled.
“Um… okay, cool.” She sat and typed. “How are you today Mr. Laptop?”
“Mr. Laptop?” it asked.
“Y-you want a better name?”
“No, I want you to learn how Skype works.”
“Oh… sorry Michelle.”
