A Sketch of Memory
“For all of us, life is a challenge. It tests our morals and ethics, our determination and resolve, our kindness and love. He was a man who delighted in overcoming hurdles, no matter how daunting the task; never gave up on a worthy cause for the difficulty of its accomplishment.
In study, in leisure; in his life and in loving interactions with others, we remember him as ready – willing – to go above and beyond the call. In his presence we felt that there were no impossible tasks, only untried methods, and this is the legacy he leaves behind.
In this memory and others we preserve him, because no-one is ever truly dead until they are forgotten. We miss his insight and energetic joy every day, however I hope that his passing inspires each of us; that we are inspired to bring out our own strengths to honour his memory, that the world is no poorer for his departure."
