Great last line! Very, very noir, indeed. Poor Tugger didn’t get any directions. He isn’t so good without directions. I just hope there’s still room for him to contribute by the time I catch up with the narrative. Fun and exciting stuff, August.
Frankly, what Nick wanted Tugger to do was to call around to various less-then-entirely-reputable jewelry and pawn shops to see if he could drag up any information. Once DiSibio came into the picture, that was no longer a concern. Tugger is free to do as he sees fit at this point as Nick will be tied up for the next while.
Great! I love Nick’s patient beginning of an explanation to Tugger, before all hell breaks loose, and the effective tying-in to Otellio’s strand. Good title and last line too.
Just on a point of continuity – I though DeSibio’s forename was Alberto?
