My word, BiC – the first paragraph is practically beetroot in its purple magnificence. Oh hang on – wrong challenge.
Other than that, this is very well and amusingly told: a Murder She Wrote style mystery, and a well-characterised detective duo on the case. I’m sure this could run and run.
Alliteration is relatively subtle, which helps to avoid it getting in the way of the story. Good effort!
