Okay, I may be veering off course into Three Stooges or maybe madcap territory here, but I just couldn’t resist playing with Tugger’s Midwest vocabulary and lack of worldliness.

Screwball Comedy—that’s the term I was thinking of and not madcap. It’s a different genre than noir, but at least I think they were popular around the same time with movies like ‘The Bachelor and the Bobbysockser’, or ‘Mr Blanding Builds His Dream House’.

Yes we’re in crossover mode here, a good position for mocking noir, Nazis, midwestern goofs, etc. I can work with this.

Verbal and visual gags aplenty. It’s certainly injected new life into the story, so stick with it.
