When I first read this (I really liked it!) I thought it was that oldie that was covered by Pearl Jam (Oh Where Oh Where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me…) but then I saw it’s tagged BNL… hmmmm.

A bonus hint: the title is a line in the song – actually once at the beginning and once at the end.

For me that one repeated line – when & how it’s said both times – turns a gory, sad ballad into a tragic love song, which I tried to capture with my piece.

I’ve no idea what the song is, but I really like the piece. BNL had me racking my brain, as it seemed familiar, and I reckon I guessed who the band is, but I know none of their songs. All the same, great story. Very haunting.
