I could see it in his eyes; they grew wide and glistened while mine on the other hand, showed fear and submission.
He stopped. I could only hope it was over. That he had grown tired or had his fill for the moment. I opened my eyes to watch him disappear around a corner, only to hear him rustling through several drawers.
As I lay here, I take the opportunity of his absence to collect myself. I hear footsteps now, and my eyes make contact again as he walks back around the corner, only this time I was afraid. In one hand, he carried with him some sort of whip; A flogger, perhaps. Dangling from it were several thin ropes.
He puts the flogger aside for the moment, on a small workbench at his side. Again, he disappears around the corner, only this time, returning with what I could only make out to be some sort of harness. He unties my hands, only to slip my wrists into small, worn leather cuffs.
