Eh, I dunno. I figured that they were just late sleepers. It could have been noon before they finally woke up.

Sure they had initially been walking for just 45 minutes, but don’t forget about Dan’s proposal. The walk back may have taken a bit longer too, there may have been a few unmentioned occasions where they had stopped for a rest or something.
