Very sad
Tragic indeed, though I like how the tone is so decidedly angry in parts. It paints a very apt portrait of conflicted grief, the loss of someone for whom all remembrances are not so rosy.
Not everyone has the all-American dad experience. This portrayal is gruesome but realistic.
I understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes we can resent our fathers so easily. While I hate correcting a poem so personal, you repeat “over” in my sister hung over backwards over cliffs to give it to him, I totally empathise with the feelings here. It’s hard being the kid with a father who doesn’t seem like your superhero.

The feelings in this piece are all too real for me.. Beautiful writing!
