What I find most interesting about this piece is the gender neutrality of the narrator. I began reading it thinking that the narrator was a boy, specifically the Florida Boy of the title. Later, when the Florida Boy is introduced as a second character, I realize the narrator might be a girl, but could just as easily still be a boy. It opens up a lot of possibilities for sequels. Good job!

I agree with everything Romero says and plan on reading a sequel or two.
