Airships: When Flames Roar

“Tell me, why have you not yet killed me?” The Earl smiled.

“Honor. But I owe you nothing more. This ends now.” Hawkeye glanced at Jerem.

A set of explosions dispersed shattered metal in all directions. Elletra dove to the ground in time to avoid the shrapnel. Smoke and the smell of oil assaulted her senses as she tried to find Hawkeye.

Suddenly, Gladstone was at her side, “We need to get out of here! The next three explosions are going to go off in a minute.”

“I need to find Hawkeye!”

“I have strict orders to keep you safely away from the blast radius.” Gladstone grabbed her arm and pulled her up.

“Get your men out first! I’ll be fine.”

“They have their assignments!!” Gladstone yelled above the sound of screeching metal and gun shots.

She just spotted Hawkeye’s orange silhouette among the flames and smoke as he vaulted towards the Earl who was running up the stairs. Jerem was on the heels of Hawkeye, when the stairs suddenly began to moan.

Elletra barely called out before the detonations began.
