Devon's Got A Girl
I leaned on the wall by the bike rack, searching through the crowd for Kalyla; hoping that she didn’t forget me. I heard someone call my name and I turned around.
“Hi,” She waved, wheeling her bike towards me. “You waited.”
“Well of course I did, Kalyla.” I raise an eyebrow at her. “I asked you to come didn’t I?”
Kalyla smiled at me, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Yes, you did.”
There’s something bothering her.
“Is everything ok?” I asked.
“Just plain and dandy.” She replied, changing the subject. “So, where did you want to go?”
“Um, I don’t really have a plan.” Way to go, ask her to hang out and don’t know where to go. Smooth move, Devon.
Kalyla pushed her chocolate brown hair out of her eyes. “Well then, let’s go to the mall.” She said confidently. I was relieved to see my indecision didn’t bother her.
“OK then.” I say, wheeling my bike after her.
“So I saw your girlfriend.” Kalyla tells me, as we come to the corner. “Does she have a problem with you hanging out?”
I just sighed.
