I tied my lucky bonnet around my head. It was white, feathery with a little blue ribbon.
It was time to Volley.
I picked the ball up from the sand, and prepared to serve.
I hit the ball into the air, completely missing the desired target that was the other teams “court”, if you will.
I was elsewhere. Mentally, at least.
I couldn’t help but notice the people passing, laughing at the shirtless hairy man with the bonnet tied around his head.
I did look ridiculous.
Apparently, the local seagulls agreed, as unexpectedly, three sticky globs of white landed on my shoulders and two in my hair.
“SHIT!” I cried.
Unfortunately, I was correct.
