The BEOS Test
The man placed the last electrode on Kellen’s head. He organized the wires from each of the thirty-two sensors and draped them over the back of the chair.
The man came around the table and asked, “Have you had an BEOS test before?"
Kellen shook his head.
“It’s a Brain Electrical Oscillations Signature test, similar to an EEG . The electrodes attached to your head are connected to the device here. The man gestured to the nondescript, silver box sitting on the table next to him.
“Once the test begins, I will need you to be silent and keep your eyes shut. As I read the details of the crime to you, the BEOS device will record your brain activity."
Kellen eyed the man suspiciously.
“When I have finished, the software will analyze your brain’s responses to the details of the crime. If the BEOS device decides you are guilty, we will proceed immediately with sentencing.”
“This is ridiculous! What am I charged with?” Kellen asked.
“As I said, I will read the details of the crime to you once the test begins.”
