okay i missed the duality of man, thing, but I still enjoyed the story.

Really funny on a lot of levels, the whole prideful and resentful though horribly pious rapping nun. You lost me on the pool within the pool thing. I mean, I know you’re intentionally being absurd. It just seemed like jump in level of absurdity so it wound up distracting.

Thanks so much for the comments, everyone! The bit at the end was a bit of the nerd in me coming out. I referenced the Xzibit internet meme, which I highly recommend if you’ve not read it. I like the recursion and absurdity of it. Aside from that, I’m impressed with how well everyone picked up on the various themes and contradictions.

Is the speaker a man or a woman? Either way, a lot of fascinating lines in this. Swimming while swimming is so modern, so efficient. It’s only a matter of time before someone installs a jacuzzi in the corner and ruins everything…

In this case, it would be the duality of woman. If I understand it correctly, the duality of man refers to the spiritual and the physical domains, which were thought to be separate. I thought you, too, were referring to the piety/materialism split — expressing spirituality by having a hit TV show. Also though the nun is supposed to favor the spiritual realm, her true release is in swimming, a physical release. Thanks again, guys! Being featured is an honor.
