A really beautiful twist at the end – I love the unrequited teenage love that you are suddenly hit with at the end of what seems initially to be a perfect situation for the narrator.

Interesting. It offers a chance to briefly experience a very specific and bittersweet feeling that almost everyone can relate to.

I thought the initial line would have exposed the end. Surely no guy would be such an asshole when presenting the ring to his girlfriend? then perhaps there may be just a guy?

pretty…i mean really pretty like a six year old chasin butterflies and then she falls down and breaks her leg and draws a butterfly on her cast.

And a great twist at the end. When I got to it I was thinking, “What? That can’t be right,” and I went back and re-read it. Very nicely written.
