I Know Why Cowboys Love Their Horses
In miles you’ve taken me half way around the world, never with complaint, and always as effortlessly as the wind carries a leaf. On days so hot 150 mph didn’t cool the air in my leathers and on nights in hail and 2 inches of slush, you were strong and gave as much confidence and comfort as you could. In parking lots you impressed the ladies and on the road you impressed CHP. Your throaty growling scream in acceleration and vicious popping roar when the throttle dropped has been music to my ears for so long now I know it like my best friend’s voice. You were everything they said you would be, and more because you were mine.
Goodbye my trusty steed, may your miles be many, and always with the shiny side up.
