I liked this! Hope you don’t mind the direction I took my sequel, but I wanted to explore a different take on the situation.

Quibble – “All he knew was that two years ago in basic auto shop class…” – sentence construction strikes me as awkward. However, omg, 1024 characters is tiny. I’m having trouble thinking of better ways to phrase it within the constraint while keeping the fingernail detail and general flow.

Yeah, it works. Maybe it’s a bit long, but it says what I want it to say.

I like how the story leads you into one area to pull you into the next until you end it with this could-have-been deal. Of course, all the wandering could be what confused some people, but it pulled me to the end of the story.

Something very similar happened to me my first year of college. Loved it.
