Rainy Days

It was a rainy day but Sarah Potts looked pretty prepared in her new plastic yellow rain coat and matching boots. She looked back at her daddy with a huge ear to ear grin on her beautiful little face.
“Can I do it now?”
Jeffrey hid his nurturing panic as he looked out at the huge puddle. The puddle could be deeper than her boots. It could be real slippery and she could fall.
“Daddy!” she demandedly called to him.
Jeffrey puffed up his chest wanting to look like the big, bold, superman she thought he was.
“Okay………. now!” He teased with a grin like it was the start of a race.
Superman has done a pretty good job with this little bundle, he thought to himself. In moments like these, he was glad the child welfare department never returned his calls.
