Can’t we wait to make a change?

I know things are getting warmer,
I know crop cycles are changing.

I see the polar bears starving,
I see the Amazon turning to desert.

I understand that food and water will be short for all,
I understand that countless species will die.

I realize that we are to blame,
I realize that we must act quickly.

But, can’t we wait to make a change?
At least till the economy gets better,
it would be so sad for someone to lose their job.
