mmm, that would not be scrumptious.. but that is the point of the challenge.:) This is very creative, for cannibalism and not brains. I’m glad I ate a while ago..
You did ask me to critique your story for historical accuracy.
The battle of waterloo was fought on Sunday June 16-19 in 1815. The protagonist were the forces of the seventh coalition, consisting of the United Kingdom, Russia, Austria and Prussia vs. the Reconstituted French army. As the battle was fought in Belgium, there was remarkably little snow that June.
This story could be appropriate for the retreat from Russia in 1812, but the French were expelled from Russian territory by 14 December 1812, so Christmas dinner would be a little late if that was happening in Russia.
But I commend you on an excellent story well conceived and executed. I am reminded of what Mark Twain is reported to have said. “Too many good stories are spoiled by over verification”.
One of the troubling thngs about being REALLY old is that no one believes me when I do Impressions. I got a great Abraham Lincoln, but no one recognizes it. I’m still trying to get my John Adams down, but it just doesn’t seem to come out right
