Imagine being able to live in the past, whenever and where ever you wanted, and yet to have the conveniences and life-saving medicine of the present. Such is the hubris of Man that we thought we could live that dream without being changed by it.

The story of our downfall is complex but our enemy obvious: ourselves, and our egos. None of us had any experience in dealing with primitive cultures but we didn’t care because we intended to fundamentally change them anyway. No longer primitive, no longer a problem, right?
