I agree, it feels forced. Definitely crude, this was a cheap shot at the Republicans in Texas who feel that there isn’t enough religion in the school system. You can read about the governor’s choice of whom he wanted to appoint as head of the Texas Board of Education. Scary stuff for the children of Texas, if you believe that a good education is important in life.
