The Sea, my Lover
Waves roll me over,
wind ruffles my hair,
the sun kisses my skin.
Dolphins slip-slide sleekly through the waters.
Birds circle overhead,
and dive into the cool sea.
The sails, like sheets, fold around me,
like a long-lost lover re-found.
I try to hold the ocean close,
and watch her dance away through my fingers,
her salty perfume lingering on my hands.
