Numb

Her hands and arms were numb. She was moving them, she could see that she was definatly moving them, but they had no feeling what so ever. Now that she came to think about it she couldn’t feel her feet either. Or her legs. Or her ears. Can you normally feel your ears? She couldn’t see anything below her chest. Her head was strapped to the chair the man had placed her on. Who was he? Where did she meet him? How did they get here? For that matter where was here? Her memory seemed to be numb too. She knew she’d seen him before. If she could just place him in her mind maybe she could work out what was going on. He had his back to her, tinkering with something on the table. All she could see was something red. Was that… her shoe? Something seemed to be wrong about it.
Something wasn’t right.

It took her another 14 minutes of staring at the man and her shoe to realise that her foot was still inside it.
