It’s not often one gets to jump out of a spacecraft.
For emergency purposes, maybe, a crew can strap on EVA suits and abandon ship, hoping for a rescue.
In ships capable of atmospheric flight, I suppose, one could bail out using a parachute.
Unfortunately for me, neither of those categories applied. Also, it wasn’t really jumping.
“Ten seconds to magnetic acceleration,” a disinterested computer informed me as yellow lights flashed down the enormous tunnel stretched ahead. I wiggled in my shock couch, trying to dislodge a wedgie in my pressure suit. No luck, and I was strapped down too tightly.
“Hey, waiiiiiiiiiiii-”
Suddenly, the wedgie was insignificant.
