you don’t stop growing up
just because you’re grown up

I wish somebody had shown me
the right way to tell a friend
when you feel they’re no longer your friend

I wish somebody had given me
some tips on dealing with cranky kids
when I feel like throwing a tantrum, too

I wish so many things
so many times
but in the end

I’m grateful just to be alive and learning.
